In Latvian and Lithuanian regions itis necessary for the youth to providealternative ways of spending their free timeby proposing them active sports and tourism.The project objective is to develop crossbordercooperation between Lithuanian andLatvian schoolchildren and schoolteachers,establish long-term partnership relations witheducational institutions, tourism organizationsand promote sports tourism as a vehicle forpersonality education.As a result of the project the cooperationbetween school children and teachers inborder areas is strengthened, physical fitness,tourism skills of the pupils are improved andmeaningful leisure time and healthy life stylepromoted among youth by involving over900 pupils and 100 teachers into variousevents including international tourism leadersworkshop, tourism festival, high schooltourism tournaments, boat trip in Aukštaitijanational park and preparing teachingmaterials on the subject of sports tourism forhigh school pupils.
