Project strategy is according to the National and Regional development Strategies of Macedonia and Bulgaria. It is in accordance to the signed Protocol for Cross-border Fire-protection between both countries. Project is accordance to the Programme for Development of Northeast Planning Region of Macedonia and Local action plan for the environment (LEAP) of Municipality Rankovce.The project is elaborated also in accordance to the Kyustendil regional strategy - Priority II - Encouraging of regional and cross-border cooperation. Priority V - Protection of the environment and environmentally using of the natural resources. Specific aim 5.5 - Environmentally using and management of the forest resources. Municipal development strategyof Kyustendil - Priority 4 - Protection of the natural inheritance. All measures of the Protocol for Cooperation and especially: Article 1 - To provide each other mutual assistance; Article 4 - To organize work meetings at all levels. Achievements:  Rehabilitated small-scale infrastructure for protection of environment and fire safety - reconstruction of a facility fire house, including the construction of a garage for two fire vehicles and derivative works for fencing and landscaping the yard around the building;  One partnership for cases of natural disaster was established;  Joint environmental management plan was elaborated; Permanent network for environmental protection was established;  Specialized equipment pack for fire-protection was supplied, including specialized equipment for anti-fire automobiles and equipment for personal protection (incl. helmets, belts, boots and protection suits);  Installation for creating an information portal, including specialized software for publications and experience exchange in the border area was delivered.  Two seminars on CBC fire-protection, exchanging of good practices and on the Concept for cross-border action in disasters, accidents and fires, were held in Kyustendil; 2000 brochures in Bulgarian and Macedonian on transnational protection were developed, published and distributed; Environmental friendly project was implemented; Experience and best practices were shared.
