CONTINUONS A RENFORCER NOS LIENS AVEC L'EUROPE PAR LE BIAIS DE NOS PARTENAIRES ITALIENS POUR UNE VERITABLE REUSSITE SCOLAIRE
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The ERASMUS + mobility programme is part of a project for the Robert Schuman High School in Charenton-Le-Pont for students in their last and second to last year who are part of the European Section – Italian – studying Hospitality/Reception and Service (ARCU) as well as for some students who have chosen vocational training.Choosing Italy as our destination was not by accident. Italy being France’s second largest economic and business partner as well as the employment opportunities, improves our student’s future employment potential. Members taking part in the project are Teachers, Education Coordinators, Pedagogical staff, and school Management. We have three objectives with this project:1)Firstly, we are hoping to make our students, who are the employees of tomorrow, aware of the professional opportunities that go beyond national boundaries. We want our students to be aware of the potential to perform their internships on an international level and especially the advantages that such an international experience would provide them, educative and professional. EUROPASS will validate these skills which have been learned in the real world. This international internship will thus accelerate their professionalization at the local level and give a sense to our actions against the early school leaving. 2)Secondly, this trip will allow our students to get a real intercultural experience, preparing them to become true European citizens. It will also help them to better understand the different human dimensions associated with a different culture and make their understanding of “Cultural Differences” something based on shared and common values. We hope to de-compartmentalize their view of one’s culture by moving the boundaries, between high school and the business world on one hand and France and another country, Italy in this case, on the other hand. Thus, the student, no matter his social or geographic origin, will have equal access to this huge heritage which is culture. This approach invites the student to take into account the different representations that he or she can make of other’s culture but also his or her own cultural, professional or social identity. This will be of enormous help in the fight against the dropout rate and place the student at the heart of an activity in the best sense of the word.3)Lastly, our linguistic goal will enable personal and professional integration more easily, especially given that Italy is France’s second largest economic and business partner; it will increase the chances of finding work beyond our borders. The student could do more complicated tasks, opening up greater contact with the client, thus a greater exchange. It’s also the opportunity to meet the CECRL criteria which is the European reference for different levels of language. Europro will increase the progress made with the language course and thus to have an additional European certification. As for the companies in Italy, we already have an increasing number of partners through the Leonardo Mobility Project and we have high hopes for the Erasmus+. We have partnered with various companies in Rome and are increasing that number as well. An agreement was signed with the Leonardo Da Vinci Istituto Commerciale, a professional and technology institution whose students are taking French on tertiary subjects. The trips will take place during the work based learnings sessions that will extend from January 2017 to February 2018 for students in their last or second to last year. The concept of using a work abroad project such as Erasmus+ gives students the possibility to integrate professionally, on a European level, with the advantage of understanding why multiculturalism is an advantage for us all.The financial resources will be allocated to meet the material needs in the preparation and organization of this trip which, for our students, is truly an opportunity to open up, professionally and personally, to the world.
