CONSTRUCTION OF BORDER HALL AT VIROJOKI

The objective is to promote the services provided by Finlands biggest and most significant border-crossing point Vaalimaa. The objective is to meet the constantly growing national and international need of the authorities, companies and organisations to arrange meetings, conferences and seminars. The provision of sufficiently modernly equipped and large enough premises in the immediate vicinity of the frontiers will also foster opportunities for the networking of business life, administration and education between St Petersburg and South-East Finland.In the project, the purpose is to construct in Virojoki municipality in collaboration with an area co-operative societys construction project a border hall at Virojoki, incorporating if necessary the services of a restaurant and business centre owned by the co-operative society. The hall will cover a total area of 200 square metres and the objective is for there to be meeting facilities for 100 people. The building is due for completion in November 2002 and the intention is for the set of buildings to form a real estate company.
