Consortium Mobilingues Ecoles
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

It's difficult to change educational practises even when required by a new official curriculum.Colleagues working in the same geographical departement don't always have the opportunity to collaborate on a specific field though they all have the same common desire to make very child successful in their learning quest. The CECRL which promotes and unifies the European linguisitic practices struggle to develop coherent strategies focusing on socio-cultural and pragmatic aspects of language development. The lack of focus on socio-pragmatic elements in foreign language teaching and learning does not only affect the teachers, but also the councelors, and the supervisors. This mobility could be the first step towards a departmental network in modern languages and European exchanges.Three different profiles of participants:- Elementary teachers who are non specialists in foreign Languages. Their main goal is to develop their English linguistic skills, and their pedagogical application in the classroom. They have to adhere to European practises and understand the cultural elements linked to language learning and teaching. Being more comfortable with spoken English will help them in their every day practise (teaching all the different subjetcs in class) and would help them dare more projects linked to a foreign language. Inside the pedagocial team, they will have to help, accompany and impulse a work such as a common syllabus.- 2 different kinds of Counselors: the specialists and the non-specialists. The first category will compare the different education systems. They will also have to boost La Sarthe about foreign languages. They will expand their knowledge by attending some linguistic classes to very young children in a country very famous and successful in that field.- The inspectors/ supervisors are non-specialists. Their main goal will also be to develop their English linguistic skills (B1) and didactics. Thus, they will improve their level of spoken English and become spokespersons in the Département de La Sarthe for the European experts. To expand their European knowledge, they will have to compare the education system of the country they will visit. All the participants will have to question the use of digital media in learning and spreading foreign languages. They will also have to question and understand the impact and interest of multiple subjects projects mainly in English but also in other foreign languages. This mobility program and all the projects starting from it will have to be seen and presented to other colleagues. Indeed this mobility has to be a first step towards more multiple subjetcs projects linked to foreign languages in La Sarthe.
