EVS project " Connecting to the roots" will be held from 1.7.2014 to 1.9.2014 in Žetale. At the project two international volunteers from Serbia and Latvia will be cooperating. The main goals of the implementation of this project are rural development and urbanization of our local environment, improvement of the social inclusion of the local population, equal opportunities for sport and cooperation of the youth, youth work and youth policy. With this project we would like to bring closer to our youngsters from our rural environment the possibilities for useful and active spending of the free time, which are more common for the youngsters in the more urban areas. Through workshops, interactive lectures, practical learning in the nature and socializing, the volunteers will help in the creation of conditions which will enable the youngsters and children from our area to easier and more efficient informal education as well as more quality and useful spending of leisure time. Project participants will be able to develop, prepare and model ideas which they will afterwards start implementing, learn on their basis and later use them in different fields. We expect that the project will have positive effects on the social activities in our local area, will offer new opportunities and perspectives on opportunities for social inclusion of youngsters. A great number of younger and older population will be presented the work and opportunities for involving in European voluntary service as well as gaining experience and learning possibilities, meeting new people, cultures and working methods on the basis of EVS. The volunteers will become acquainted with the methods of work and experience of our organization, which we have gained through organizing and participating on different projects in Slovenia and abroad.
