Configuration of the Hungarian-Romanian water and disaster-recovery hydrometeorological informational system in the interest of the common danger-prevention. (MKI-VIZIG-SHF)

The project aims to reduce the number of victims and the quantum of damages in case of disasters in the cross-border area. By improving the speed and effectiveness of communication and by installing a new-generation warning and alarming system the project aims to reduce the impact of any disaster that may occur. Specific objectives are connected to the following aspects: efficient and common preparation and swift interventions in order to diminish the outcome of unexpected catastrophes in the area; establishment of a direct link between institutions for a swift and efficient joint reaction in case of floods. The target groups of the project are the two counties water, disaster recovery, civil defence, voluntary and professional fire service organizations, local self-governments, as well as the population of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Satu Mare counties (581 623 people, 372 933 people).
