The topic of the project c is the intercultural construction of a collective thought focus on the environmental issues in the Atlantic coast and the Sustainable Development. 24 young people aged between 14 and 18 years, all come from European area with strong cultural identity, will meet to discover the Brittany region and the maritime cultural heritage, to share their point of view about environmental issues in a regional context, and consider as a group how to feel about these issues, how to act otherwise, each at their own level. For what purpose ? The aim of this youth exchange is to promote active participation of young people through an intercultural meeting and their involvement in an eco-citizen approach. This bilateral meeting will be based on a 9-day program, driven by these following actions: Action 1st: intercultural reflection To share feelings, experiences, way of life, to confront habits and opinions, to become aware of what connect us, what differentiates us, based on the principle of solidarity and respect for the difference. We will use methods of intercultural pedagogy, language activities, in order to develop language skills, social skills and cultural skills. Action 2nd : cultural enrichment Brittany and Galicia Present the common character To be territories marked by a strong regional and traditional culture (language, music, Celtic art…) Some activities of the stay will allow to explore this cultural dimension and so feed our reflection initiated during our 1st exchange on the notion of identity construction through our regional cultures. Action 3rd : engagement of the young people - active citizenship Using a Popular education process, this exchange aims above all the acquisition of skills so contributing to the self-fulfillment of the young people, in their social inclusion, improving their professional perspectives and promoting the exercise of an active citizenship between peers and on the local plan. We opt for an educational approach of empowerment and autonomy of the young people in all the aspects of the realization of this project. Action 4th : Jeunes éco-l’eau The objective of this project is to make discover to the young people the wealth and the biodiversity of the Breton maritime and cultural heritage, to make sensitive them in the environmental protection in a responsible way for sustainable development, and to educate these eco-citizens of tomorrow by helping them to look into better the evolution of the world and by encouraging their understanding of the stakes and the power to act, each at the level and according to its possibilities. Ultimately, the dimension of non-formal and intercultural learning will bring to the participants a potential and a maturity for their own development, and will allow to develop social, interpersonal, civic and linguistic skills and communication, curiosity, understanding and critical mind.
