Community planning techniques
Start date: Jan 31, 2005, End date: Mar 30, 2006 PROJECT  FINISHED

This initiative aims at meetings the various interconnected needs expressed by the operators and bodies engaged in project-making, cooperation and assistance abroad. A concrete analysis of existing requirements has highlighted, first of all, the need for greater educational and training emphasis to be placed on the initiatives of subjects located in the cross-border area and active in this field. The course structure is based on the analysis of the professional figure under consideration, of the skills that the trainee is expected to acquire to perform his/her activities, and on an assessment of the work environment in which the trainee will work. The various contexts in which project making and international cooperation are performed are very different one from the other and span from non-governmental organisations to consulting firms in charge of cooperation activities and/or projects mainly in South Eastern Europe. The operators engaged in community programme management as well as planning and cooperation must first and foremost be flexible and adaptable in all aspects; familiar with the international milieu and with its juridical and political functioning; with the issues related to the economy for development in the international context, the peculiarities, policies and reality of project-design and cooperation; the regulations on international cooperation; the planning, management and accounting of financed projects.
