COMMUNITY ART
Start date: Jan 1, 2016, End date: Dec 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The European Voluntary Service project presented is part of the department COMMUNITY ART, focused on sociocultural artistic projects aimed at the promotion of values based on human and civil rights, peace, democracy, respect for the environment and solidarity. The tasks of the volunteer were based on her motivations an were centered in the projects planned by the Department for this period: Mirada CriticART (revindicative photo exhibition), Cultugram (exploring the cultures of immigrants from the city of Sabadell with young people), MCN challenges (organizing social projects under the strategy of the MCN international network). The aim of the EVS project is to train the volunteer in the development of art projects as tools of socio-cultural training of the society, acquiring in turn personal, social and professional capabilities that will enable her to achieve emancipation. She may participate in the actions planned according to her abilities and needs, in this case she will be involved in the projects in a more direct way by supporting their logistic organization and coordination. Since TACC is an organization that fosters creativity, it will help the volunteer to develop a personal project within the department of COMMUNITY ART. The project will be centered in the use of art as a tool of cultural training, taking advantage of the knowledge acquired. Therefore the project is intended at promoting the acquisition of skills through non-formal and informal education. Likewise, the volunteer will participate in trainings before the EVS (cultural and linguistic) and during the EVS period (linguistic, logistical and organizational functioning of the organization and its projects). The volunteer is a 19 years old girl with sensitivity for youth work and a great interest in art events and exhibitions and cultural management activities. She has a strong motivation for learning about the functioning of a young and artistic organization and is willing to live a long-term international experience. The partner for this project is the latvian association RED NGO, with extensive experience in the mobility of young Europeans (notably the European Voluntary Service) and an affinity with TACC emerged from HOLD ON !, a project held in July 2015 in Sabadell. Moreover, the association promotes the creativity of young people and organizes artistic and awareness activities, which will surely be helpful in the preparation of the volunteer before joining the team of TACC,It is also anticipated that this project will benefit the local community, since the proposed activities within Community Art are addressed to local youth and the local public attending artistic events and exhibitions. It is also expected to benefit the partner association, in which she has worked voluntarily for years and therefore she may help to implement art programs as a tool for cultural training at ther community through the knowledge acquired during this EVS project. Finally, this is a project which will have a positive impact on the social cohesion of the communities where it will take place. It will also havea positive impact on the perception of the European Voluntary Service as a training tool for young people. Finally it will have a positive impact locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, on the perception of art as a tool for cultural training thanks to the broadcast channels provided by TACC.
