Common history and collective identity in cross-border regions

By means of the grant the co-operation of the historian committees in the regionhas become more intensive, and this reinforces the position of the Slovakian-Hungarian historian committee. It revives the activities of the Slovakian-Ukrainianand the Hungarian-Ukrainian historian committees and it improves building relationsbetween the Ukrainian historical science and the historians and institutions of themembers of the European Union. It contributes to the on-coming of national historicalsciences. It has also an intensive effect on the inhabitants of these countries, especiallyon students of the secondary and tertiary education and in this way it contributes toa positive attitude towards the common history. In the trilateral cross-border region itforms the historical awareness of the inhabitants based on tolerance and co-operationbetween peoples.
