Come together in Europe; technical and cultural exchange as part of vocational education III
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Jul 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Very often Biological Laboratory Assistants work in multinational research workgroups. Nowadays technical literature is mostly published in English, so it is essential for them to be able to talk, read and write in that language. Our Biological Laboratory Assistants are already familiar with laboratory work stations in Germany, and when they go abroad to Malta, Norway, Slovenia or Sweden they have a lot of opportunities to improve their communicative skills in English. All these aspects are also important for trainees of the full vocational school educated programs (GMTA = media design; CTA = chemical technicians; BTA = biological technicians), who were in Malta, Slovenia, Sweden, Croatia and Spain. In addition to the benefits mentioned above, the GMTA, BTA and CTA got their first option of a so called in-plant-socialisation during the European placements, which is important for them to get on in the working environment. Each participant got a Europass mobility including a job description (in German, English and French), as well as the Europass-language pass, which they completed by themselves, following their public presentation of their project results.
