Colours: thE wonderfUl bRight colOurs EUROPEAN havE

"Colours" was the topic for the project and the activities involved in the vast variety of subjects we chose to include. In addition, the notion of colours was a metaphor for the different cultures and countries, students and teachers represented in the project.A number of activities in the classes involved were related to the theme of this project, e.g. in nature sciences the colours of matter and the colours of skin (colours = different ethnic groups) were highly relevant topics. To bring the project to an international level the exchange of students, where they were given the opportunity to present their work with the theme to each other, constituted an important part, and at the same time as it was a motivation in their work with the project. ICT as a tool for communication and networking between teachers and students within the project was of major importance. Our aim for the project was to increase pupils awareness and tolerance for the cultural heritage and cultural differences between the nations, and was also meant as a contribution to how ICT can be used in gaining new knowledge, as a learning method and as means of communication across borders.
