Coloured Glasses - the World is our Home
Start date: Jul 1, 2015, End date: Jun 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

"Coloured Glasses - the World is our Home" is a project which aims to reach more than 3500 young people with a message of appreciation of cultural diversity and international cooperation. Based on the experiences and passion of Youth For Understandings former exchange students and host families, we have developed a flexible educational concept called Coloured Glasses. Based on this concept we will offer non-formal education workshops to schools and local youth organisations all over Sweden. The objective is for the young people - especially those who do not have the chance or vision to go on youth exchanges themselves - to reflect on the meaning of cultural diversity and get introduced to the possibilities and potential in international cooperation. This project will last from July 1st 2015 until June last 2017. During that time a total of 5 volunteers will get the possibility of coming to Sweden and being a part of developing, delivering and evaluating these workshops. During the project the volunteers will work in the YFU Sweden office in Stockholm and live in a Swedish host family. The volunteers will coming to Stockholm for 5 separate periods, but overlapping, so there will continously be two volunteers together working in a team.
