‘Colors of Europe’ is a youth exchange project in accordance with Erasmus + programme. It will take place in Veliki Žitnik, Croatia from 20-29th August 2015 and will gather 24 young participants age 13-18 from Croatia, France, Moldavia and Portugal (5 participants + 1 leader). Leader has to be older than 18.
The goal of the project is to include in Erasmus + program and methods of non formal education young people with fewer opportunities, more specifically youth raised (or still raising) in foster care which is facing social, educational and economical obstacles. Minimum 50% of participants are going to be children/youth from Foster care. Two main topics that will be processed on the project are arts and sports. During the project there will be held different workshops encouraging participant to develop their linguistic competences, creativity, confidence, physical abilities, non verbal communication and generally encourage them to practice sport and healthy lifestyle, as well as provide intercultural surrounding to youth with fewer opportunities. Some of planned activities are teambuilding, street art in the city Gospić (7 km from Veliki Žitnik), preparation for street performance with capoeira and acrobatic yoga in city of Zadar, photography in motion, millennium photography and preparation for exhibition in local office.
The objective of the project is to raise awareness among young people of the importance of practicing sport, healthy life, art and development of creativity and self-confidence especially for underprivileged youth who are socially and economically challenged and don’t have opportunity to participate in activities of this sort.
