Collaborative education approach to production of creativity e-portfolio as promotion and job search possibility
End date: May 2, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

Employers in creative services (hairdressers, make-up artists, industrial designers, fashion designers, media technicians) have difficulties in finding capable and creative employees that are very important for their business. It is hard to assess the real level of skills and creativity from a written job application or CV and employers often lack time and resources to personally see the work of all candidates. Job seekers, on the other hand, have even more problems introducing their knowledge, skills and creativity to potential employers. Internet, that often assumes a central place in our social / working environment with social networks and available communication tools, brings a new solution to this problem. It was the aim of this project to teach, facilitate and enable job seekers (students, already employed and unemployed) to prepare a creativity e-portfolio as a tool for presentation of their skills, knowledge, creativity and products. E-portfolios can include digital contents, preferably active (movies and recordings) that show the level of skills and creativity that the job seeker has conquered. Potential employers can independently of the time and geographical limits evaluate the work of job seeker and decide whether to invite him/her to personal meeting or even directly to work. Specifically, we will prepare a learning course and train the trainers that will teach and support students and job seekers in e-media presentation of their work and already acquired skills in a form of creativity e-portfolio. We set-up the environment to produce and publish e-portfolios, link them to social networks and disseminate the information to a wide base of potential users. CREATE-IN’s consortium brought together a unique knowledge and interests of all stakeholder groups. Project applicant (P0- SŠOM) is a secondary school that combines programs of creative services and will, based on results of this project, prepare and register new learning contents. Sources of the innovative approach were the world’s most active online hairdressing training and education portal (P2 - MHDL) and an experienced Dutch learning approach and e-portfolio specialist (P3 – Reflexion). Project included representatives of the industry (P4- OZS and P5- SŠ) whose problems with creative workforce search and “real-life” problems were one of the sources for the project idea. Our contribution to the sector of creative skills is mainly in presentation know-how and awareness for job seekers and employers on more levels: education (learning material and certificate) , presentation (e-portfolios), use of social networks (linking of portal), experience exchange (stakeholders) and mobility fostering. Any learner in Europe can benefit from our project: with synergy of creativity, strength and range of project partnership we are using the social media network production wave to enable more exchange and mobility between education, job seekers, employers and industry.
