Start date: Oct 1, 2016, End date: Sep 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project „What´s the news in the neighborhood?“ – practical working experience of health workers with some biological materials in medical facilities in Czech Republic has a goal of improving the level of the key competences and skills of the participants in collecting biological materials, provides practical training of operations which contain collection of biological materials in medical facilities in Czech Republic by themselves or under a professional supervision and implement EUROPASS to show validity of educational outputs in mobility. Attendants of the project are going to be 10 students of the 3rd grade and 2 vocational teachers from the middle school of health care in Dunajska Streda. The project targets the application of theoretical knowledge developed during the class of „The basics of nursing and assistance“ and practical knowledge developed in class „Expert clinical practice“ with keeping in mind the law about the competences of the 3rd graders regarding the collection of biological material in medical facilities in Czech Republic. We have asked for partnership „Střední zdravotníckú školu Frýdek-Místek“ based on the similarity of the structure of class subjects, similarity of content target of the school, small language barrier and also for the similar amount of students visiting the school. The competences of the healt workers in Czech Republic are wider and we assume that also the experience of teaching these subjects are on a higher level. The participants of the mobility will train individual performances in collection of biological material, according to their competences, in a foreign medical facility which will expand the participants' knowledge and skills. They will have an opportunity to try different instruments for collecting blood (Manovette) besides of what they use in medical facilities in Dunajska Streda (Vacutainer). Within the project we are planning to visit other healthcare facilities as a home for the elderly in Frydek Mistek a private healthcare facility - Blood Centre . We hope that the new environment will increase their motivation for further studies and increase their social and communication competences. The experience in a foreign country will support a better enforcement on the labour market. The school will gain another experience in preparation and realization of international projects which will improve its classification in comparison with other secondary schools in Slovakia. The practical teaching will also gain a transnational character. The students have to show their skills which will fill the learning outcomes and create individual presentations, concerning mobility. All the outcomes and results will be presented by our school in all the possible ways in the local media.
