CLIL nová inspirace a cesta ke kvalitě

The basic school Říčany, Bezručova 94 is focusing on humanities such as music, art, drama and languages in a long term. In accordance to this specification we have deciced to implement this project concentrating on the professional development of the teachers and their motivation in day-do-day work with English and German language students. The main goals of our project are: 1. get acquainted with the CLIL teaching method, using it at our school, to make the language lessons more attractive 2. in compliance with the school specification to support the pupils' development 3. to support the professional development of teachers taking part in the project, improve their teaching techniques and skills with objectives towards the right motivation and inspiration of their pupils for studying English language now and in the future as well. There are six highly motivated teachers participating at this project. They are university graduates with levels between B1 to C1 at English and German languages. The school is going to realize the following activities within the project: -integration of the CLIL method into the teaching plans of the teachers -improvement of teachers´ competencies and skills, -sharing the experience with colleagues both at home and local schools -development of multicultural awareness, -international cooperation and development in education, -support new modern technologies in teaching (interactive boards, tablets) -using wiki and blogs, the WWW, -design own games, activities, -evaluation and choice of teaching materials -development of competencies in English language, knowledge, skills, methodology by young learners, -post-course dissemination and sharing of good practice to other teachers and schools. The project will last two years. We plan to realize at least two mobilities in the first year and four mobilities in the second year. The impact of the project will be immediate. The teachers will be able to apply their new ideas and skills in their classes right after the course. In the short term, they disseminate and share the new ideas and skills with the other teachers from our home school, then they prepare articles and presentations for a local newspaper, for national educational magazines, display in places the materials to promote the project outside our school. The long-term impact of the project is based on the general attitude of longlife learning of our teachers, its positive results are leading to the motivation for both our pupils and our colleague teachers.
