The purpose of the project is to strengthen the civil safety in the region by strengthening the cooperation between important actors within this field. The aim of the project is that the civil safety actors in Denmark and Sweden will be able to handle catastrophes in an efficient and smooth manner and in such a way that both systems can work side by side when solving a cross-border problem. The world is experiencing great vulnerability in connection with incidents such as September 11, the terror in Madrid etc., and some of the same things could happen here. First and foremost one must be prepared for accidents on the Oresund Bridge or major storms. It is thus important that there is a well-functioning civil safety system in Oresund Region to handle these potential accidents.
