Nowadays it is necessary to continue to learn throughout the life. While Europe is direct to become a knowledge based economy, a growing number of citizens apply to ongoing training to develop their skills and improve career opportunities and economic conditions. Within this context, CIAPE has launched its innovative project which was created with the ambition of leading to success people within a constantly changing community. Learn during the whole life is no longer a luxury, but a must for all those who wish to remain competitive in the global job market. Assuming the need to invest in people and their personal potential, CIAPE puts at its centre the individual in order to identify and recognize knowledge, skills and abilities acquired in the course of his life, under both a professional and personal point of view, helping him to enrich the curriculum. To do this, it is necessary that also the staff directly involved in the activities organized by CIAPE is able to confront with this mission, renewing themselves and their knowledge and skills to meet the demands of social life, recapitalizing its knowledge, modifying or replacing it. Then, no more the acquisition of knowledge once and for all in life (traditional study path), but a continuous learning (lifelong learning) that involves us in always new social challenges of the so-called complex societies. The overall intent of the CIAPE STAR project is to allow the staff of the organization to participate in specific training courses organized by structures of high competence at European level for the updating and improvement of their professional and personal skills . All participants that will take part in the project activities have different educational and professional backgrounds enabling them to cover a wide range of topics thus providing added value to the activities that CIAPE promotes. These profiles ranging from senior with many years of experience in the definition of training courses, till junior profiles that are beginning to make experience in the world of training, willing to learn and develop skills including innovative methods to apply the tasks to be performed. All the people involved were initially involved in a process of analyzing and defining their training needs such as to ensure the correct identification of training to follow and as a result of the best project partners to be involved. Regarding this second aspect, all the selected partners were identified within the members of the European Association of Education for Adults ( EAEA - European Association of Education for Adults ) and the network EUCIS - LLL (European Civil Society Platform on Lifelong Learning ), both based in Brussels. Such methodology will guarantee the achievement of the ultimate goals of the project and the certainty of benefit from an intensive but quality training. All this will have positive effects on different aspects starting from the participants, who will in this way realize the upgrade and improvement of their skills; the structure of CIAPE in general, which will continue to operate its businesses relying on its trained and specialized staff and last (but not least), the different types of beneficiaries of the CIAPE activities in terms of professionalism and quality of the training and counselling offer achieved thanks to the replication of training models or putting into practice good practices acquired during the different mobility experiences.
