The project “Listen to Nature” aims at promoting volunteering in the field of environment protection and at spreading the idea of sustainable way of living and development in harmony with nature. Another aim of the project is to educate people about environment protection, climate change and the need for energy efficiency. Moreover, it aims at raising people’s awareness about sustainable use of nature resources for overcoming the climate change consequences. The proposed project directly relates to the need for support of the EU youth capital and the Europa 2020 aims. The volunteer service will last 6 months in Nature School, the village of Vlahi, Kresna Municipality in Pirin mountain. The Nature School is an educational and demonstrational center for sustainable practices in nature resources usage. The role of the volunteer will be to support the Nature School mission to promote harmonious way of living with nature among volunteers, children, students and adults. The project involves two NGOs from Bulgaria and Czech Republic and one volunteer. The volunteers will help in the following activities: hosting visitors and school groups, organization of volunteer eco weekends and workshops, development and implementation of informational and educational programmes, content creation for the website of the Nature School, writing news, practical work in the garden, support of everyday activities in the Nature School. Moreover, the volunteer will be part of the organization of an international exchange on the topic of “Sustainable development”. Volunteer initiatives for development of workshops and activities for youngsters about climate change and energy efficiency will be encourages and supported. The volunteer taking part in the project will have the opportunity to enrich his skills and knowledge about nature, perma culture, sustainable lifestyle practices, and international and intercultural communication and understanding. The expected results from the project and the EVS volunteer participation in particular will contribute to better collaboration with local community where the project is taking place. Moreover, they will strengthen the role of Nature School as an organization for sustainable development, environmental education and place for youth activities. Thanks to the project the Nature School will further develop its network of international partners and there will be a larger promotion of environmental protection ideas, in particular climate change actions and the need for environment efficiency in every aspect of our life. By participating in the project the volunteer will develop some skills on personal, social and practical level. They will enrich their knowledge about environment protection and sustainable living. In the frames of the project the volunteer can be offered to participate in seminars and trainings that are connected to the project topic.
