CHIRON: Referring Innovative Technologies and Solutions for Ubiquitous Learning

The CHIRON project aims at developing reference material, able to present and analyse research outcomes, experiments and best practice solutions relating to new forms of e-learning, with particular regard to the integration of broadband, digital TV and mobile technologies for ubiquitous application on informal and non-formal lifelong learning. Ubiquitous learning refers to on-demand, personalised lifelong learning for all (anytime, anyplace, anywhere). Target groups of the project include educational planners, e-learning providers, media producers and VET decision-makers at local, national and European level. End project results will be three-fold: the development of knowledge through surveys and analyses in specific areas (identification of the training needs, identification of adequate learning methodologies, technologies and tools); the development of analysis and observation tools and a network for enhanced information exchange. A multi-lingual glossary of terms in the field of technology-enhanced learning and applied ICT will be further developed by the project in EN, FR, GR, IT, SE, HU & BG. Dissemination will make use of existing partner networks and will rely upon seminars, demonstrations, interviews, articles and press conferences. All project results will be made available in paper and electronic (internet) format in EN, with a series of key conclusions/recommendations also being circulated to decision makers in all partner languages.
