Children's Creative Activities Across Europe

The aim of the project is to develop real understanding and awareness of the richness and variety of European cultures through creative activities and to make a contribution to health education and inclusive practice at our schools.This will concern learning through:CREATIVE ACTIVITIES Children will work on creative activities including seasonal food and cooking. Following the “slow food” philosophy and the use of local product pupils will develop a greater understanding of the importance of eating healthily, respecting traditions, accepting differences and sustaining the environment.Nature games and other outdoor activities will prompt more exercise in every day life and will stimulate a holistic learning. In connection with seasonal and traditional customs (autumn, Easter, Christmas etc) we will make up things with natural materials and waste materials with the aim to stimulate the creativity of the children.The end product will be a “Book of Friendship” (Letters) a calendar (showing the pieces of art), a card game (basic information about each country), booklets about “Easter and Christmas Traditions in Europe” and a final book “Favourite Children’s Activities across Europe”.Class CorrespondencesPupils will learn about the daily life, the partner schools, different cultures and traditions through direct communication and the exchange of materials and audio visual items. The use of ICT will support the efficiency and effectiveness of the communication. The end product will be a “Book of Friendship” showing the best and most creative letters of the children.MOBILITY During the visits, host schools will present performance including traditional dance and music. This will be videoed to show the children and staff at home.
