Children as relatives within psychiatry
Start date: Dec 31, 2011, End date: Dec 30, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

The aim of the project is to develop co-operation and competence in the workforce through enhanced competence within a special area of psychiatry (children who have parents with mental illness, severe somatic illness and / or addictions). This cooperation will focus on a comparatively undeveloped field, where there are no fixed programmes or protocols to import directly from other organisations or countries. Achievements: The first step in this project was to initiate a comprehensive mapping process to clarify the need for actions towards the target group (children who have parents with mental illness, severe somatic illness and / or addictions). The mapping will then be the basis for the development of an action plan, based on experiences from both sides of the Öresund region. The action plan will point out concrete proposals on how to deal with the problems that the target group faces every day. There will also be designed a certain educational program for students and employees in the field of psychiatry.
