Chemische Synthesen - gezielter Werkstoffeinsatz und microcontrollergestützte Prozessüberwachung
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

In the proposed project, the participants (students of the dual system) deal with an implementation aspect of the topic "analysis of material testing". More specific, this meant that they had to select materials for typical chemical processes on the basis of the available data using the database - for example, the production of acetylsalicylic acid, known as ASPIRIN ® or the synthesis of aromatic compounds such as pentyl acetate as pear aroma. These materials are then tested with the chemicals required for the synthesis for their suitability for the specific process. Because then the final operational capability is clear and the corresponding product can be produced. To give a higher technical demand the process monitoring is done with programmed microcontrol-based sensors. The production of a substance takes place in a small pilot plant. Results of the learning processes are therefore the proper selection of materials, the evaluation of their suitability for the synthesis process and the execution of the process under technical conditions, including a realistic process monitoring. The project takes place in the laboratories and workshops of the partner school "Colegiul Tehnic Costin D. Nenitescu" in Pitesti, Romania. There will be a project for the training personnel during the same time of the students´s stay. Participants are vocational school teachers and training instructors of the participating dual partners from the fields of chemical, metal, and information technology. Together with their Romanian colleagues they develop a professional and interdisciplinary teaching project on "producing chemical products with the help of microcontrol-based data acquisition with respect to the selection of materials." Due to the simultaneous presence of a German-Romanian learning group, the special feature of this project is that the plans can be implemented immediately into concrete teaching actions. The participants receive an immediate feedback on their planning so that an evaluation and if necessary a correction or adjustment can be made. The acquired project can be used on both partner schools or for the dual partners. By working together on a task-based teaching project it is possible to set the same standards as examples for a specific module within different vocational training systems.
