We believe that each new young generation holds the key to co-create a better world. With fresh innovative ideas, perspectives and a tremendous need for (online) connection, the current generation of young people are extremely promising to be leaders of change. With the project Change! Leaders for active participation laboratory (CLAP lab! 2nd edition) we aim to improve the capability of these young people to make a change in society through a youth leadership development programme. After the success we had with CLAP Lab! 1st edition, we want to continue this program running a 2nd edition. The aim is to disseminate the positive results to a new group of participants, using the ideas and input we received from the participants and participating organisations in the first edition of CLAP Lab!This 2nd edition of CLAP Lab! foresees a larger number of partners involved. We extended the partnership with 3 new organisations that are eager to participate in this youth leadership programme. Furthermore, in the 2nd edition we also increased the amount of partner organisations that host part of the programme in their country. We will be welcoming in total 11 partners from Lithuania, Finland, Ireland, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Romania, Denmark and Croatia Latvia. The aims of CLAP lab! 2nd are:• To stimulate young people to make a change in society• To stimulate young people to guide or direct others in a course of action, influence their opinion and behavior and show the way by going in advance• To offer young people the experience, understanding and practice of different kinds of leadership during training and exchanges.• To build up a leadership attitude among our youngsters that stimulates the bottom-up decision-making process instead of top downCLAP Lab 2nd will take place during a 7 months period and consist of 9 activities:Activity 1) June 2016 - Partner building activity CLAP Lab! 2nd - SpainActivity 2) August 2016 - Training Course for the trainees CLAP Lab! 2nd - The NetherlandsActivity 3) September 2016 - APV (Ex)Change! 15-18 y.o. ItalyActivity 6) October 2016 - (Ex)Change! 18-25 y.o., ItalyActivity 7) September 2016 - APV (Ex)Change! 18-25 y.o.The NetherlandsActivity 8) October 2016 - (Ex)Change! 18-25 y.o., The NetherlandsActivity 9) November 2016 - Evaluation Meeting The NetherlandsIn CLAP lab! 2nd we work with 5 different groups of trainees/participants. Our participants come from various backgrounds. Approximately 65% of the group can be considered to have fewer opportunities ranging from geographical obstacles to social, educational, mental health issues and economic obstacles. We choose to establish inclusive groups in which young people can support each other with their own specific talents, knowledge and experiences:1) 26 Trainees (groupleaders); aged 18+, 2) 24 under aged participants that attend the youth exchange 15-18 y.o. in Lithuania3) 30 participants that attend the youth exchange 18+ y.o. in Italy4) 24 participants that attend the youth exchange 18+ y.o. in Netherlands5) 13 representatives of the partner organisationsThe envisaged results of CLAP lab! 2nd for our young trainees are:• an increase in the competences of the trainees to guide or direct others in a course of action, influence their opinion and behavior and show the way by going in advance• an increase in the leadership attitude of the trainees that stimulates the bottom-up decision-making process instead of top down• ability to undertake a stronger and more responsible role in their organisations• bigger motivation to learn in other setting than formal education, also to influence their learning process and outcomes• ability and bigger self-esteem to self-organise and drive change in their environments• a strong network of peers all over Europe that can be a support network, also people to involve their organisations into Erasmus+ moreThe envisaged results of CLAP lab! 2nd for our participants of the 3 youth exchanges are:• a sense of believe in ability to create change as a young person• a sense of perspective to go through the leadership programme themselves• a better sense of self• a sense of belonging to an European community of young peopleThe envisaged results of CLAP lab! 2nd for all partner organisations are:• extra means to motivate and reward youngsters in their community through positive example of their trainees• improvement of the quality of their youth run projects by providing their youth leaders the chance to participation in the CLAP lab! 2nd programme• co-operation and co-creation in social change together with the young people involved in their organisation • learning of the staff involved in mentoring and managing their participants during this multi-measure project
