Chance for Peace!
Start date: Dec 1, 2012,

The training course “Chance for Peace!” will provide 30 youth workers from EU, SEE and EECA with tools to empower young people to take an active role on their conflicts not only on a local but also on an international level. The TC will bring together youth from Europe and from regions affected by recent armed conflicts in the EECA and SEE. "Chance for Peace!" will be a safe space for participants to share different conflict realities and to understand the nature of violence and the possibilities for youth to be active within their communities. Therefore, a basic introduction into peace studies and conflict transformation theories will set the basis to analyse the role of youth in conflicts. Based on this premises participants are engaged to share their realities in order to create a common space to set up new initiatives and follow up projects. This TC will use a variety of tools and methods of non-formal education and participant-orientated approaches such as roleplays, simulations, games, workshops, exercises and forum theater. The TC will also allow for a space for debate and introduce some presentations. Celebrating the TC in Georgia will also offer the participants the opportunity to meet international organizations and civil society structures working in the field. Finally, the TC will provide with a space for presentations of different local peace initiatives developed by the participants. The project will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia, from February the 25th to March the 5th 2013.
