Start date: May 6, 2016, End date: Oct 5, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project will serve to gather youth from different places. It will include 9 participants and 1 leader from Spain, France, Algeria and Slovenia. The difference of our cultures can connect us just as much as it separates us. We would like to show the youth that, despite our religious, cultural and social diversity, we can find a common ground, accept this diversity and connect into a unified team. Moreover we can use this diversity to create our own celebration. The young will combine their experiences from everyday life into unified knowledge of surviving in the nature, preparation of meals and building makeshift shelters. Even if our views and understanding of laws can divide us, we can overcome our differences with joint discussions and mutual understanding.Diversity and the refugee issue should serve as a challenge for the youth for accepting otherness and living with it. New experiences and knowledge will feed their self-confidence and better their understanding of diversity. The majority of the participants will be young people with fewer opportunities and/or from socially disadvantaged families. The activities will consist of practical workshops as well as sports and activities in the nature. The workshops will serve to promote active leisure. They will develop their communication skills in foreign languages and learn about culture diversity and accepting otherness. The project will last 10 days, between the 2nd and the 11th of July. It will take place in Koroška vas pri Gorenju nad Zrečami.
