CB-RIS

Main objectives of the project were improving cross-border mobility and accessibility in the border region on the Danube and Drava waterways, and developing accessible information and communications technology which would have a future use in the social and economic life of the border area. This was planned to be achieved by implementing River Information Services (RIS) in Baranya County in two RIS centres, one in Osijek and the other in Mohacs. Achievements: The results of the project was a continuation of the River Information Services (RIS) development in Croatia in order to follow the current development in inland navigation in Europe and to establish new IT solutions for traffic and transport monitoring. Thus a better access to and use of new information and communication technology was enabled, providing local authorities in the border region of the rivers Drava and Danube with a state-of-the-art traffic and transport monitoring system. In this way, the project contributed to the enhancement of safety and efficiency of inland waterway transport in Croatia and Hungary. The Centar za razvoj unutarnje plovidbe, together with the Croatian partner Port Authority Osijek and Hungarian partner RSOE, managed to include in the project all relevant cross-border authorities (customs, border guards, water police, disaster management services) from both Croatia and Hungary, and to develop an application which works for both national RIS systems, HuRIS and CRORIS.
