Catching Way(s) of the Winds
Start date: Jul 15, 2014, End date: Nov 15, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

The key theme of project Catching Way(s) of the Winds: Art and Sport – balance for healthier body and soul. Today the most actual questions and interest of young peoples all around the Europe are: active and healthy lifestyle, ways of expressing yourself, valuables activities and busyness during freetime, habits of healthy lifestyle. During youth mobility program, 28 participants from Estonia, Poland, Latvia and Lithuania will try unique methods for expressing and developing creativity, learn ways to stay physically active and explore healthier lifestyle. The main idea is to invite people of different characters and to create attractive and extraordinary conditions for personal and interpersonal learning in multicultural environment. We want to involve young people who uses there athletic side to express their personality, young people who are more fond of art and know how to use their creativity for handcrafts, also, youth who more or less know how to combine and harmonize art with sport, and most importantly, we want to invite young people who faces time, finance, geographical or psychological challenges and there for has less opportunities to engage into art or sport. We will help them to learn from each other, to learn about each other and learn about their selves. To reach these goals we find these objectives most important: When implementing workshop for traditional weathercock, organize multinational teamwork in multicultural environment, in such way creating opportunity for participants to learn about cultures, history, traditions of their own and neighbor countries. Also, try different water sports, which can help to develop hobby for free time and so provide experience for synchronizing art and sport for more active, healthier and happier living. Provide conditions for participants to learn about healthier lifestyle, encourage them to share examples how to spend their free time more use-full and what benefits can person get from practicing various sports, creating handcrafts and combining these activities with work or studies. Create non-competitive environment, which would be suitable for personal and interpersonal learning. Use non-formal education principles in group building activities and learning processes. Help to develop soft skills for participants to improve their awareness and self conscious. Promote initiative, responsibility and independence by providing them a decision right. The material result of youth exchange program – unique weathercocks with mix of cultural and traditional heritage from each participant countries, will be the best long term dissemination tool for Catching Way(s) of the Winds project and Erasmus+ program, as we plan to send each participant organization finished weathercocks to exhibit it together with information table next to headquarters of organizations.
