Capacities of youth workers on the field of youth employment services

The project aims at transferring the Australian expertise on youth employment services provision to Slovakia and Czech and to strengthen the capacities of youth organisations in these countries on the field of youth employment services provision, especially for NEET young people and those young people who are disadvantaged in the open labour market.Project activities are proposed in a manner which: - enhances capacities of youth organisations in the field of systemic performance of activities especially focused on prevention and reduction of young people’s unemployment (focusing on young people who are disadvantaged in the labour market) and potential provision of public employment services;- gives engaged youth organisations an inspiration to create and run programmes which take experience from oversees and help to apply a new inventive, business-driven approach previously not utilised in the SK nor CZ; this way, they assist both young unemployed and potential employers;- supports not only organisations and youth workers directly involved in the project, but also those which are not directly involved in the project, through freely accessible learning materials.Key objectives of the project are:- to create methodology and contents of the training program for youth workers specialising in youth employment services provision, thus reduction and prevention of unemployment and to train 14 youth workers from SK and CZ (+7from AU) who will in the future act as trainers of youth organisations on local level and disseminate knowledge and skills gained through project after its formal ending;- to create methodology and contents of the educational course accredited by the two universities from SK and CZ and to strengthen capacities of 20 (current or future) youth work practitioners yearly in the field of preventing and reducing youth unemployment and providing specialised and targeted public employment services;- by the means on newly created course, which may be replicated also to other universities create a platform for interconnection among youth work practitioners, students (potential future youth workers) and academia;- to provide for sustainability of project activities after project’s formal ending.During the project duration phase, variety of outcomes will be delivered, including e.g.:- curricula and methodology for two educational program (certified training for youth workers and educational course accredited by university) focused on the youth employment services (with the main focus on NEET and those disadvantaged on labour market);- 10 series of short films and 10 case studies which will be used as training/education resource material;- established network of youth organisations specialised on the prevention and reduction of youth unemployment (alumni of training and educational programs);- 2 mobility activities for youth workers (one training and one job-shadowing).
