Camminare insieme/Walking together
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Oct 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

This EVS project involved two European volunteers who carried out their service in Italy, specifically in Forlì (Emilia Romagna) for a period of 11 months. The applicant, Consorzio Solidarietà Sociale, coordinated the joint work of the receiving organization and sending partners for their active participation in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of the Main Activities. The activities have been developed in 2 daily centers of the Social Cooperative Il Cammino: San Leonardo and Barisano. The main themes of the project were the active participation of young people and disableyd - as the service has allowed the volunteers to come into contact with disabled adults and share with them their enthusiasm and their cultural background. The volunteers have developed new skills supporting the professionals in the regular activities of the centers but also suggested something new based on their own interests. They had the opportunity to get to know the Italian culture but also to acquire personal and professional skills useful for their future. The methods applied - as in all EVS projects - were that of non-formal and active participation of all partners and volunteers in different stages of the project. The project results were mainly linked to the growth of volunteers from both a personal and professional point of view and from what they have learned from the whole experience. As for the impact, we believe that the contact with the world of the social cooperation has given to the volunteers a concrete example of that sense of initiative and entrepreneourship in the service of their community and have stimulated them to develop their ideas and future project always looking for inspiration in their living context.
