The project will start with an integrated research, analysis and preparation of a strategy for integrated cross-border economic development. This will help local authorities, NGOs supporting businesses, investors and finance providers to adjust their policies and plans to better address the needs of the entrepreneurs and small business in the area. The participation of entrepreneurs in the two study visits in Bulgaria and Serbia and the conference on entrepreneurship and business opportunities will help the establishment of numerous cross-border partnerships, exchange of information about business opportunities, best practices and know-how amongst entrepreneurs, on-line education on business skills, SMEs and farmers from both sides of the border. The involvement of the local authorities, investors and business support NGOs in the conference, as well as they being able to use the data from the web site, will contribute for overall improvement of the local business climate for development of entrepreneurship and SMEs. Achievements: The project envisioned and achieved the following results:- Research, analysis and strategy for integrated cross-border economic development - Strategy for integrated cross-border economic development (SICBED) was developed;- Collaboration between 10 Bulgarian and 10 Serbian SMEs from the districts of Montana and Bor;- Organization of a conference on entrepreneurship and business opportunities with 40 participants;- Identified and promoted successful entrepreneurship stories and best practices in the crossborder region;- Web business information portal allowing exchange of information and start of joint trade opportunities was developed.
