Buscando la innovación en la formación del profesorado
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The In-service Teacher Training Centre of Almendralejo has undertaken ambitious training plans with more than 120 activities per academic year, for more than 1,200 teachers, as well as social workers, monitors and non-teaching staff and it has covered all priority lines of action set out in the Regional Training Plan. Our Center aims to contribute to improving the quality of teaching achieving a higher level of competence. Therefore we follow a priority of adult education, contained in the dossier "Education and Training Monitor 2013", in 3.3, which is to strengthen the role of teachers as it is this, the teacher, the principal educational success factor. Not only the best candidates have to be selected, but once inside, they must find support and training throughout their careers. The Teacher Training Consultants, who are the staff of the In-service Teacher Training Centre of Almendralejo and from who the participants of these three courses have been selected, must be aware of all educational developments and are to be trained in all the activities which they organise. As our training areas are very wide, we have focused on learning and acquiring all the experiences that lead to innovation and improving the education system, learning what other European countries do. Therefore, we chose the following topics: To find innovative teaching methodologies and approaches to learning and teaching focused on the acquisition of key skills, which help teachers to contribute to the reduction of adults with low skills (digital, language, linguistic, etc) making strategic use of flexible learning open educational resources and better exploitation of the potential of ICT; This last point is important because there is a growing connection between lack of basic digital skills and social exclusion in the adult world, according to the results of PIAAC, the study of Eurydice. To organize and advance teaching and learning ways through technology and innovative educational systems in Europe developing strategies to adapt their good practice doing a comparative analysis of the models and approaches to management or implementation To work to improve the professional and linguistic skills of teachers optimizing teacher training sessions and developing new courses and related materials and learning tools for adult learners. We will attend three training courses that have common activities, though organized in different countries with different educational systems : 1st Course: "" Grand Tour in Europe: créativité, innovation, et citoyenneté active dialogue interculturel" from 12 to 17 October 2015. Paris, France (organized by NPO Cittadino Laboratory, PIC 949 490 418) 2nd Course:"Best Practices Benchmarking", from 10 to16 April 2016. Helsinki, Finland (organized by EUNEOS, PIC 950782555) 3rd Course: "Coping with Web 2.0 technology. A challenge for contemporary education” de 19 al 25 de julio de 2015. Oslo, Norway (organized by Euriditus, PIC 942518640). The impact on participants in the project can be seen through their ability to develop teaching methods in teacher training, as they have gained new knowledge about innovative practices on the implementation of the key competencies of other education systems, especially in adult teaching, applying multidisciplinary approaches to teaching and finally improving language skills of participants and their knowledge of cultural and educational aspects of the countries visited. The expected impact on Teachers' Centre could be checked by its prestige not only in the area but throughout the region, becoming a reference in European programs and improving the quality and variety of its educational offerings. Clearly all these experiences acquired through these three courses completed during these twelve months have had a clear impact to enrich the teaching activities we organized and which have been offered to teachers in our area, and whose goal has simply been to improve their training in different areas and educational levels. Thanks to the experience, we have monitored the schools in our area to be initialized in different Erasmus + programs. We hope to organize in the near future job shadowing and to form a consortium of adults with the Centers for Adult Education.
