Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project is aimed at the professionalisation of the personnel of the Heilig-Hartinstituut Heverlee. It fulfills three institutional needs: first of all the need to further improve skills education in foreign languages in view of achieving a kwalitative CLIL-programme. Secondly the need to increase studentparticipation in view of sustainability issues in schools and finally the need to develop an international network that is aimed at the future. Therefore, this project involves european mobilty of different kinds: on the one hand, we will increase our personnels expertise by sending them on jobshadowing- and teaching assignments with two partnerinstitutions, on the other hand the participants will attend specific conferences and networking events. In total we want to send out 10 persons from four different profiles within our school: representatives of our management, members of our starting international office and teachers in French, English and general subjects. Each of these profiles is linked to the needs as specified above, so the participants are also members of the working groups that will get input form this mobility project (i.c. the working group Modern Languages, Student Counsel and Sustainability at School). With this project we want to achieve the following results: firstly the development of a quality-based international network of partners aimed at a multitude of future cooperations. Secondly a comparative study of and the realisation of new initiatives in student participation in environmental care. Finally, the development of skills modules in French and English to facilitate teaching general subjects in these languages and to professionalize teachers so they can generate other CLIL-materials (Content and Language Integrated Learning). Each of these results will have an impact on the person itself, on the school and on all internal and external stakeholders. Moreover, in the long run, each of these results is aimed at three targets: creating a positive learning and living-climate which is embedded in our studentapproaches, anchoring international activities in our school and extending foreign language and CLIL education in a sound and sustainable manner.
