Buenas prácticas docentes en centros plurilingues
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project has a twofold objective, namely, to improve the competence of CLIL teachers (both English and French) and to benefit from this training in a wider sense, by means of establishing common methodological criteria for a multilingual project in our school. In order to do so, we plan to send four teachers, two from the English section and two from the French one, to participate in CLIL related training. Our intention is for these teachers to contribute with their knowledge to an analysis of the most relevant teaching practices in the context of our school, with a view towards achieving the 2020 objective of the European Community, which establishes that secondary education students should be able to communicate in two foreign languages, in addition to their mother tongue. We believe that our school has the ideal conditions to carry out this type of project, among others: the high motivation or our students, as well as their interest in learning foreign languages, the commitment of their families and a substantial number of teachers working in any of the two bilingual sections.Only four teachers will participate in mobility, however, the activities that will be subsequently carried out in our schools will involve the participation of all the teachers in both bilingual sections, more than ten in total. The profile of the candidates for the mobility periods will be CLIL teachers (English or French) who have experience in CLIL methodology and plan to remain in our school for the academic year 2016/2017. The activity will be divided into two complementary parts. The first one will be the training periods abroad, in which only a small number of teachers from the bilingual sections will participate, while the second one will involve all educators in both sections, which will contribute to the attainment of the proposed goals for the project as well as to enhance its impact on the teaching community. All in all, we believe that the nature of this project will contribute to the establishment of common criteria regarding CLIL methodology in our school, which will eventually improve learning in a multilingual context. This will, without doubt, allow students to develop an adequate cultural and professional competence and to advance towards European citizenship and towards raising awareness of the importance of ensuring a fluent communication among European citizens.
