Budujemy swoją przyszłość
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The applying institution is the Building and General Education School Complex in Braniewo-ZSB(Varmia and Masuria voivodeship). The host is BFW in Germany which will be responsible for organizing work placement for students in Frankfurt. The project is set to last 24 months commencing from September 2016 to the end of August 2018. The participants in the project are 17-19 year old building technical school students. All together, 16 students and their guardians are scheduled to spend a period of 4 weeks in Frankfurt. The workplace in Frankfurt is a specialized workshop that trains young people in the field of building construction. Observation of the labour market, shows that there is an increasing demand for skilled workers in the building and construction industry. Our school is now in possession of a small workshop, however, it is just enough for basic building activities like brick laying or plastering. Students therefore have their compulsory, one month work placement in local building companies where in most cases the employers are reluctant to allocate them with important activities. The primary goal is basically to gain knowledge in plain wall and Venetian binding as well as the following skills:-mortar production and its application;-construction of transversal and horizontal joints using standard building measurements;-single brick laying-single brick laying using a string-single brick laying of a corner;-construction of T-shaped walls;-understanding and reading technical drawings;-rules of Venetian bindings;-construction of T-shaped walls in Venetian bindings;-construction of stanchions;-construction of walls in Polish bindings with windows;-assessment of the quality of building materials;-checking if the construction is in accordance with the technical documentation;-checking the quality of the construction;-checking the period of construction;-surveying the construction- improving their German language skills especially building construction terminologies which will lead to better possibilities in the EU labour market. At the end of the work placement, the students will receive certificates as well as a Europass Mobility in accordance with the ECVET. The project activities and results will be published by both the host-BFW and the applying institution. Information about the project activities will be posted at their websites, our school will organize a conference for the students, teachers and the local administration and a full report of the project will be published in the local newspapers, TV and radio. This is scheduled from June 2017 to August 2018. As a result, 16 students will get practical experience and skills in building construction, which is widely needed on the Polish and EU labour market. The number of students pursuing building technical studies at high education institutions will increase. The students will widen their field of knowledge which will have a positive influence on their performance in further exams. Also, the local work market will gain 16 more trained workers ready to share their experiences at work or set up new companies to offer quality building and construction services in Poland and even abroad.
