Brundibár - neobycejný príbeh

The international meeting of young people named "Brundibar - uncommon story" is specified for forty-four young people from Lithuania, Germany, Slovenia and Czech republic. The project will be held mainly in Jaromìø and surroundings and will take nine days. The main objective of this meeting is to carry out the children´s opera "Brundibar" which was originally performed by the children of Theresienstadt concentrating camp in occupied Czechoslovakia. We will deal with a toleration, xenophobia and Jewish culture. At the end of the project the opera will be performed live and an origin document which was abused by fascistic propaganda and should have shown an idylic life in Theresienstadt will be presented there.The participants will prepare dramatic and musical part of the opera, create an environment for the production and make costumes themselves during the workshops that will be arranged. A national evenings will be organized where each country will be supposed to introduce itself to the others. We will arrange a wide variety of activites for the participants including sightseeing tour of Hradec Králové, Terezín, workshop in Terezín, visit to the Zoo of Dvùr Králové nad Labem, Fortress Josefov and fort underground, sport tournament etc.
