“Broadening Learner Horizons through Mobility and Exchange” Why a european project within the framework of ERASMUS + KA1 between Studio M Toulouse and Croydon college? Following a high demand in language learning, especially amongst French and English learners in vocational studies on the one hand and the necessity of learning a different culture and professional environment in order to increase their employability on the other hand, this project is perfect to validate skills recognized on a European scale as well as national. Learners from specialized vocational courses such as visual communication and photography will enhance their employment probabilities thanks to national tools like Europass, Enic Naric validation of work placement abroad and speaking innenglish or French to an independent level. Cooperating vocational institutions: Studio M Toulouse : www.studio-m.fr - www.esimode.fr Croydon College: www.croydon.ac.uk Objectives of the project: • learning a foreign language • enhancing employability of young learners following the end of their course. • improving our institution quality of courses through international cooperation. Target learners and Profile of participants: 28 learners enrolled on a vocational course in visual communication / photography between the age of 16 to 20 Highly motivated and implicated in their studies. Program: Pedagogical stay of 30 days in England with a work placement of 2 weeks. Staying in host-family with full board. Travelling by plane from Toulouse to Gatwick. Week 1 + 2: 40 hours of language learning through specialized modules and language teaching in Visual Com or photography. Week 3 + 4: 2 week wok-placement with individual tutor. Guided visits and some free time organized under the supervision of the 2 group leaders. Fun evening organized at Studio M to celebrate the return of the students at Studio M with all the participating bodies and other students. Logistics and anticipation Both institutions will sign a common plan of action for the organization of the project . This plan of action will set out: The framework of the project The objectives in short and long term All the logistics Key dates and events of the project Dates and places of meetings Participants will be following a closely monitored preparation With added language classes business)- contact hours and internet platforms Cultural classes and debates Individual interviews Evaluating the project on a short, medium and long term via Specific tools like Questionnaires, Work- placement reports Existing national tools like Europass Validation of skill the ENIC-NARIC body.
