Breaking Through - Youth in the World of New Media

Breaking Through - Youth in the Word of New Media is an interactive training based on non-formal education methods focused on new media and their influence on peoples´ thinking and behavior. Participants from 22 countries from European Union, South East Europe, Eastern Europe and Caucasus will learn how to launch a media campaign using tools of electronic media and increase their self-awareness on preventing prejudice, stereotypes and manipulation in new media. Training will consist of three parts: 1) on-line team work - preparation prior to the training, 2) a week long training (taking place in Telè, Czech Republic on August 7 - 15, 2010), 3) realization of the prepared campaign in participant´s country.Participants will learn how to prepare and launch a campaign using new media which they will apply and realize then in their home country after the training. Through this campaign participants will have an opportunity to raise awareness in terms of preventing prejudice, stereotypes and manipulation in media. Besides creating an original campaign, participants will also gain experience and knowledge in the field of project preparation, team management and presentation skills.
