Breaking cultural barriers

The purpose of the project is to encourage the volunteers in active participation via cultural production and culture activities. The project also promotes intercultural fialogue between forur countries, activates young people to active citizenship and creates new international experiences to all our co-partners. The volunteers will have a one-day training of cultural production that helps the volunteers to understand environment of cultural production, volunteering period and tasks better. During the first week, the volunteers will work in Kuoreveden Nuorisoseura Nysä where they help local volunteers in the theatre production and creation of an intercultural evening together with the local colunteers. After the first week, the volunteers will shift to Tampere whrere the volunteers will assist folk dance cultural production team during the international folk dance festival “Tanssipidot” 13.-17.6. The tasks during the volunteering period are eg. stage construction, scenic design, costume design, marketing and assisting international folk dance groups. The volunteering period takes totally 21 days in Finland and the co-partners are from Portugal, Hungary and Bulgaria. The volunteers have fewer opportunities to have international experiences because of economic, social, educational or geographical obstacles. The volunteers will be supported by trained volunteers or employees during the period.
