Title:"Break the silence" ili "Peace starts at home" Venue: Diyarbakir, Turkey Dates: 10.08 - 16.08.2015 (Arrival and Departure dates are included) The project aims to train youth people to recognize and prevent domestic violence through informative campaigns that raising awareness of the problem. Violence is a destructive force that can strike families and communities. But the victims often don't talk about it and the abuse becomes a family secret, one that can lead to the that person's complete isolation and even to death if the abuse is not reported. The main goal of this project is to create tools to fight against prejudice and gender stereotypes, to raise awareness about the domestic and sex based violence, and to encourage tolerance towards different affectivity models through non-formal methods of education, such as workshops, team building games, role plays, forum theaters and debates. Through this activities we want to raise awareness about the domestic violence and gender roles return to normality and to encourage active, enterprising, and responsible feminine roles. The themes treated in the course were: domestic and sex based violence, gender equality, stereotypes and prejudices, femininity and masculinity on pop culture, early school leaving, our reality and the reality of our youngsters etc.
