The project is " Old age – great health " implemented by Lithuanian Jews (Litvak) Community (LJC) social center.Activities of the Centre are:-Empower a person (family) strengthen their capacities and capabilities to deal with their own social problems and help combat social exclusion-Provide general social services -Provide high quality, modern social, cultural and educational services for different age groupsThe project aims to improve the health of elderly people promoting the concept of active aging and wellness. Participating learners will improve their knowledge and competences and will be able to develop a network of services for the elderly and improve the quality of work of social services center.To achieve this goal following tasks will be implemented:-get acquainted with organizations of high European standards, learn about their quality requirements, methods of work for the provision of social services for the elderly- get acquainted with latest demographic tendencies in EU and be able to identify the impact of the aging population will have social, economic, political life of the country-promote healthy living and active aging principles and techniques-create social center volunteer network-strengthens international organizations network working with the elderly in EU-strengthens center staff capacity to train new center employees.During the year at least 8 of the social center coordinators will learn best practices in the strongest European social centers and organizations providing similar services in France, Poland and Germany. Latter will acquire new skills and knowledge to their products and services that at least 1,450 elderly citizens of Lithuania in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Panevezys, Siauliai and Ukmerge will benefit.
