Facing the evolution of the economic Community, it is prevailing for young people today to be aware of its changes. They have to be prepared to mobility and adaptability developing linguistic and vocational skills in order to fit to tomorrow’s society. We want our pupils to be play an active part in their training, while favouring their autonomy, and developing their adaptation and integration abilities in another professional environment. Our aims are the professional and personal enrichment Pigier vocational high school is a private institute with a state association agreement. It has the label: Lycée des metiers (vocational high school), specialized in the tertiary se ctor : office work, sales representative and managing assistant. It is located in the city of Toulouse, and welcomes pupils from numerous cultural and social origins. These students, often with a chaotic background have , for many of them a lack of motivation and confidence. Their training will lead them to the jobs of salesman, commercial or assistant. Few of them will go on with higher studies. We want to develop mobilities for them in order to : - Give or restore confidence in themselves through experiences outside their personal environment - Develop an interest in meeting each other, learningabout other cultures and lifestyles - Deepen their professional field internationally - Develop adaptation abilities, the sense of personal and collective responsibility while encouraging initiatives, autonomy and integration. - Increase the knowledge in the everyday language and in the professional one in a concrete way. - Enable them to speak easily and correctly with a motivating project and thus improving their oral and written expressions in their mother tongue (for those issued from immigration) or foreign language or language of their place of living. We want to integrate those mobilities into their curriculum with a progression : work placements in France for their first year of studies and then abroad (for volunteers and motivated students) in their 2nd year, promoting the mobility of a teacher on site. Starting with 10 mobilities in Spain (near Toulouse) and in England, we believe that it will develop the idea and lack of mobility for the others by the evidence and impact on the development of language and professional skills of the students who did a mobility. Mobilities for our teachers contribute to increase their level of qualification, and participate in the development of our European department. The knowledge of other educational or professional systems is a bonus for our school. These mobilities will establish a strong link between education and companies , pointing out skills to be developed in education in order to fit to the needs of current professional life . These mobilities and exchanges allow us to develop a network of partners (schools , companies) across Europe.
