Botschaften in Kinderspielstädten
Start date: Jul 21, 2014, End date: Oct 20, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

The organizers, in charge of the Children's city, will work out a project, where a delegation of adolescents to Children's cities will act as ambassadors for their own Children's city, their real life city or their country. In this context, elements of their social, cultural an political system, will be presented, in a playful way; they will integrate themselves with their programme into the playsystem of their host Children's city. Not only will the ambassadors bring their culture, their history or their political system into the game, they will also take part themselves at the happening of the Children's city, they will work there, take courses at the university or teach courses, organize their leisure time, so they will be in contact with the citizens of the Children's city. This way, the adolescents will earn and spend money, take part in the life of the others, get to know them and their culture and see and understand, why things may be different from their own country and discover simularities. Children's cities are a participation project, where children and adolescents lead their city themselves with an elected city council, they can be as active as they wish, start their own company, decide how much they want to work or how they want to spend their leisure time. This way they can make any valuable experiences within the protected surrounding of the Children's city. The project will take place this year in Luxembourg (Junglinster). Mini-Lënster will last 2 weeks. It will "host" ambassadors from Germany and Austria. The ambassadors, the political leadership of Mini-Lënster and other adolescents will take part in discussions in order to organize a children's and youth parliament in the context of children's cities.
