Theme of our project is : "Book-ing - don't worrie, books are here" , a small mobile library on the beaches of the community of Postira on the island of Braè. The duration of the project was 4 months, from 01.05.- 01.09.2010.It is a National Youth Iniciative.initieted by 5 young persons who lived on the island in a small community where there were no library, no youth club, no cinema, neither an internet corner. We decided to bring books on the beaches (3 beaches) and in the cafes whising to awake our local community and bring to consciousness that young people were not satisfied and that they wanted to point the problem as well give a solution to change it.So, the main aim is to promote young people's active citizenship through the social inclusion of the young people, and active participation in the local community, and final aim was to make the conditions to organise a local library, as a meeting point for the youth activities. One of the methods of the activity (riding bicickles) promoted sport activities on the open air. The duration of the acrivity was from 20.07.-10.08.2010. every day. The activity itself, was a mobile library : riding bicicles with atractive books to the (3) beaches during the day and in the evening in the center, in order to borrow books and to make it obvious that people needed it.Daily activities had the regular shedule:16:00-16:30- 1. beach16:45-17:15- 2. beach17:30-18:00- 3. beach22:00- 23:00 - by the seaside Evaluations :Interior: before the activity started,daily during the activity.Exterior: the evaluations of the users- The total amount of the EU grant is 3.290,00 €Conclusion: The project was successefully realised, with good options to be followed up next year. We recived a donation of 80 books, a few students said that they woulld like to be involved and to participate next year in this or in the next simillar projects.
