The project will take place between the two project partners: Birk KG, Nuertingen and Tellus Group, Plymouth. The Birk KG is an international, owner-operated, wholesaler in building services with offices in Nuertingen, Rottweil, Heidenheim, Lindau, Memmingen, Schwarzach and St. Gallen.Our project partner Tellus Group is as educational partner an active partner of programs such as Erasmus Plus with many years of experience in arranging internships.Planned are two segments, one in October/November 2016 and one in October/November 2017. Each of them are for four weeks. Each time we will send eight trainees. Our trainees have a dual training: Businessman and –woman in wholesale and foreign trade and specialist for warehouse logistics. They are in their second and third year of training and in average 18 years old. The criteria for selection of trainees are good grades and corporate commitment. The cross-cultural and linguistic preparation will be carried out by our company.Our experiences with the project “Go for Europe” have been very positive. In the past few years Birk enabled 36 trainees under Leonardo Da Vinci an internship abroad and had good experiences with it, including increased, language skills, mobility, flexibility, independence and openness towards other cultures. Furthermore, the trainees gain valuable experiences in dealing with international interlocutors and business partners.As a result, the attractiveness of the dual training can be increased significantly for both the trainees and Birk KG, also providing an image boost in the competitive market.The duration of the stay will be four weeks in Plymouth or Portsmouth. The trainees will be accommodated in host families, which are selected by the Tellus Group. On the first day the trainees receive all the informations (map of the city, timetable of busses, language course and the companies).During the first week, the trainees conduct an intense language course. For the following three weeks they work in a selected internship company. Our company organizes the travel arrangements and insurances. The Tellus Group organizes the transfer from the airport, the accommodations in host families, language course and work placements.There is regular contact with our partner Tellus Group and to our trainees. The trainees have the opportunity to stay in contact with Tellus Group at any time.The evaluation of the project is assured by the participant reports, the confirmation of the project partners and the personal feedback from our trainees.
