Inclusive education is a model providing disabled students to be educated on equal terms with their peers. When the teachers have insufficient knowledge on mainstreaming students, they would have difficulties and also be reluctant against inclusive education, which decreases the quality and the attribute of the education at our school. The goal of our project is to provide "Equal and quality education for everyone". To accomplish this goal, incapability on mainstreaming practices of our staff should be corrected and they are necessary to be aware of the recent international practices.
In our project named "Equal Education Despite Individual Differences " , 3 staff of our school determined according to objective criteria will participate in the mobility in order to be trained. Our seven-day training program consists of two main parts. While general information about inclusive education is included in the first section, the second section includes the information for the implementation of inclusive education and the mainstreaming practices made in Europe.
In order to measure the effectiveness of the training, participants will be subjected to a mid-term review at the end of the first section and an overall assessment at the end of the second section. And also to assess the training process, at the end of the each day evaluation activities will be carried out on a daily basis.
At the end of this training, participants will learn the new practices of inclusive education in Europe and they have chance to integrate these new practices on their daily teaching activities. Additionally, the awareness of the parents and students about the mainstreaming students will increase and school-family collaboration will be provided. Thereby, academic and social skills of the mainstreaming students will increase and also their peer relations will develop. This project will contribute to the growth of enabled, accepted and happy citizens at classrooms, starting from here at schools and also in community life.
The teachers participating in the project will transfer the acquired competences to school staff, students, families, other schools and other stakeholders through the seminars held. In the process of mobilty, in order to reflect the learned information and skills to education and training applications, it is going to be set up 5 teams which concern creating awareness, a supporting room, material development, social acceptence and family training. These teams are going to facitilate exhibitions, art competitions,case studies, seminars and developing educational devices for the inculusive students' acedemical and social development.
