Biotechnology: from academic research to starting a company

The competitiveness of the European biotechnology sector depends largely on the ability of European citizens to start companies. It will also depend in particular on scientists' ability to research viable products and applications.The project aims to train university researchers to equip them for starting and managing companies.The project comprises an analysis of the needs of the target groups and an examination and evaluation of existing training products for those intending to start a company.The partnership intends to produce a Web-based training product comprising:° a catalogue of reference works and articles available on-line;° computerised model business plans;° a modular and interactive training programme based on the latest technological developments in multimedia;° classes in streamed video on the Web;° links to the main business start-up sites.
