Wallonia and Nord-Pas de Calais have a wide variety of vegetables and fruit trees. French and Belgian organisations responsible for the conservation of this rich heritage joined forces for a better management and promotion of this heritage. Together they want to make an inventory of, and rehabilitate, the fruit and vegetables heritage in the cross-border area. This involves the preservation and enhancement of domestic geneticfruit and vegetables heritage. In a second phase, the heritage is promoted among professionals and the general public for marketing purposes.
